  • Can I count my League Bowling toward a marksmanship award?

  • Report on marksmanship events your chapter has undertaken (pictures and/or videos are very much encouraged), or discuss various board or online games that you've played through the marksmanship program, or even would like to be considered to be added into the program.

I am really confused about this program. I bowl on a sanctioned U.S. Bowling Congress Senior League. I am the only TRMN member bowling on this league. In fact, I am the only TRMN member in my area. I bowl on a four person team. Every week that we bowl we fill out a score sheet that shows the total number of games won, the amount of pins we knocked over ()raw total) and our pin total with handicap. Can I submit our official score sheet as proof that I bowled and knocked down the raw total for marksmanship? It usually takes us about 2.5 hrs to bowl. I would like to earn these awards. And being a senior I am not familiar which the other games.

Thank you for your assistance.

Going by my knowledge of the rules that exist so far, they will not count as you need at least 3 TRMN members involved, minimum 2 playing, one watching, or all 3 playing for it to count.

Thank you. That makes it difficult for me since there are no other TRMN members near me and I am a remote member of my chapter as there are no chapters near me that I can get to. I have official paperwork from the USBC each week to show what I did.

The requirement to have other TRMN members present isn't (only) for verification. It's because the Marksmanship awards are aimed at getting TRMN members to participate together in the games/activities.

I guess this is another award area that I can not participate in since I can not travel to the conferences for medical reasons as I can not travel long distances. I am glad there are the exams and the other educational aspects like the reading challenge and the walking challenge when that happens. as I can participate in that area.

You absolutely can participate - you will just need an online game and other TRMN players to play it with. Or to recruit some members of your bowling league to be part of TRMN :)

Even if you can't find someone to recruit for TRMN, there are other ways to participate. Online games are your best bet, if travelling is not an option. It comes down to finding a game you can potentially enjoy online with fellow TRMN members. Either ask within your Chapter or simply post here, or on TRMN Gaming Discord. If you have a base idea what you could potentially enjoy, that might even make this easier for you. :)

According to the Newly released Marksmanship Manual, if you can get two of your bowling buddies to sign off, it appears you are able to earn credits playing by yourself.
This version of the marksmanship program does not require a “witness” for two-player games, since many of those games involve only two players because the members cannot find three or more players. In these cases, this version of marksmanship trusts that two TRMN members would not falsify their game reports, and as always, the issuing authority may request to see the records of the games played. In the case of games with only one TRMN member, two non-member witnesses must verify the game session.

Thank you so much. Both team captain must sign our play sheet and I can get a copy of that and present it as proof of play and raw/handicapped number of pins downed. Yes, I can upload those sheets to the approving authority. we start bowling again after Thanksgiving.

I am looking for the manual now.
