MMORPG and the Marksmanship Medal

Ok...

Not sure if this has been asked and answered or not...

Since I have just noticed that the following games have been added...
I play World of Warcraft and Star Wars: The Old Republic, mostly. Very occasionally, I play World of Tanks, Warplanes, Warships.
My question is this...

How am I to account for time and sessions played, when there is no one I actively play with? (Witnesses)

At a minimum, you'd have to play with one other TRMN member, with a third TRMN member to witness the play session. Playing by yourself doesn't qualify - it's not just playing games, it's playing games together.

Thanks for the reply, however, I think you missed the point. To my knowledge, there aren't many (or any) folks in here that play WoW or SW:ToR. Hence my question. I play with folks all of the time. They just don't happen to be TRMN.

I didn’t miss the point. If you aren’t playing with other TRMN members, then your sessions don’t count for marksmanship purposes.

Just like the fact that I play Destiny 2 on a regular basis with my wife, who’s also a TRMN member - with no third TRMN player or witness, it doesn’t count.

Best suggestion would be to join a guild or clan in the online games which has other TRMN members in them and then your time will count as they can see when you were online, etc....

TRMN Membership is free...

If you are friendly with them... Talk to them about this cool program we have where they can earn awards for game play.

I would also point out that there are a couple threads about wow guilds [n a couple of servers. You might check to see if they are on the same as you (or linked).

Thorium Brotherhood: "Guardians of Forever" is a STARFLEET International Alliance Guild on WoW that has a lot of TRMN Members in it. (There's a lot of cross-play between SFI and TRMN, and the GuildMaster is open to Non-SFI Members being in it as long as they remember one cardinal rule "Keep Chat PG-Rated, Many of the members have young children that are near by and will often listen in on chat or read the chat")

The other option is to put feelers out and see about a guild with members of your own Fleet and start up your own guild for this purpose.

The revisions to the rules was meant to make things more "attainable" and to "open more doors" (at least to my understanding) but it wasn't meant to make it a "given" to receive points towards promotion. You would have to use some ingenuity (i.e. I play Diablo III and other XBOX One games with my daughter (a cadet TRMN member), and my wife (a TRMN Member) witnesses all of it. So we can claim any daddy/daughter gaming time as time towards marksmanship).

The trick is to not so much look at the loop holes/exceptions; but to look at the program and see how you can make the program work for your style of gaming.

Another example - Play at a local gaming store - but you are the only TRMN Member there? Our mobile app let's you sign up members on the spot. Membership is free! Play Soccer or Bowl in an adult league .... once again we have an app and those activities can count towards Disruptor (which will earn you Navy Pistol ribbon). Going on a roadtrip with the family .. there's Travel Bingo Cards ... swap off drivers so everyone can play .. driver is witness!

I am on World of Warships. My clan is 555, it's a Ringo reference. I play mostly on Monday's and Tuesdays.

I started a World of Tanks clan, lazily calling it Home Fleet

My roommate started one in World of Warships, Elysian Space Navy

In World of Warcraft I am an officer in the guild on Blackrock, "Noxious Elite" - the "bad" thing about this guild is the chat can get a bit adult or rude at times, if people are OK with that we are willing to welcome you in, right now we are between expansion cooldown only raiding fridays at 7:30 pm eastern. Typically in the past we've raided Tuesday/Friday at these times.
